FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why do I need to upload photos, proof of identity and medical qualification?
The integrity of the competition is very important. We need to be able to verify that you are a qualified medical doctor. We also need to verify your age. Your portrait photo will be used for team sheets and the website.
  • How will my personal information be handled?
We will post portrait photos on the website. Your name and age will also be visible. At the end of the tournament the registration list is passed on to the next hosts. We do not pass on your information to external sources.
  • Do I need a Visa to enter Ireland?
Visas are required by attendees travelling from some countries. We would encourage all attendees to check with their local Irish representation and also with your travel operator if your originating country requires a visa. The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform has primary responsibility for Ireland’s immigration and visa policy. For more information on visa requirements for Ireland please see their website www.dfa.ie Attendees who require a visa will require a letter of booking confirmation from the event office. Once your registration has been completed and paid in full we would be delighted to issue this letter for you. Please email the event office at wmfc25@abbey.ie. Please note that we cannot issue a letter until your registration and payment is completed in full. It is advisable that you have booked and paid for accommodation for the duration of your stay. This should be included with your visa application. Note that VISA applications can take 6+ weeks for Ireland. We would encourage all attendees to ensure that you have left ample time.
  • How do I book a practice pitch for my team?
You can book all-weather pitches with University College Dublin directly by emailing sportfacilities@ucd.ie . Please note that booking will depend on availability and you will need to cover any costs with UCD directly. We can also suggest using this website to find a practice pitch for your team: https://www.playfinder.com/dublin/football Otherwise, there are local free parks such as Herbert park and Deer park.
